📌 Fact-Check Disclaimer (July 13, 2026)
EA Season 9 & the FUTTIES Token Store went live on Friday July 10, 2026 (EA official news, published July 8). Confirmed FUTTIES ICONs so far: Kenny Dalglish, Jairzinho, Frank Lampard. The Team 1 release date (expected July 24, ~18:00 UTC) and player names outside the EA official post are based on community leaks and historical FUTTIES patterns — subject to EA official announcement. This guide will be updated the moment EA drops the Team 1 loading screen.
FUTTIES 2026 is the biggest FUT event of the season, and if you've been sitting on fodder waiting for something to spend it on — this is it. Season 9 is already live, the FUTTIES Token Store is already dropping Player Items every Friday, and Team 1 (the first big batch of FUTTIES cards) is expected Friday, July 24 at ~18:00 UTC per community consensus. That's 11 days from now. Everything you should be doing between now and then is in this guide.
Two dates to keep separate. Season 9 and the FUTTIES Token Store launched Friday, July 10, 2026 — this is EA-official, straight from the Season 9 news post. That's why the Token Store is already active and refreshing on Fridays right now. FUTTIES Team 1 — the first flagship batch of promo cards — is the moment most players actually think of as "FUTTIES starting", and community consensus based on how EA structured previous FUTTIES releases points to Friday, July 24 at ~18:00 UTC. EA has not officially published the Team 1 date yet at the time of writing.
Season 9 typically runs six to seven weeks, so the FUTTIES window should stay hot through the end of August. If Team 1 does land on July 24, the four-team rhythm below is what to plan around.
| Batch | Expected Date (UTC) | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Season 9 & FUTTIES Token Store | July 10, 2026 (Fri) | EA official |
| FUTTIES Team 1 | July 24, 2026 (Fri, ~18:00) | Community consensus |
| FUTTIES Team 2 | July 31, 2026 (Fri) | Expected |
| FUTTIES Team 3 | August 7, 2026 (Fri) | Expected |
| FUTTIES Team 4 | August 14, 2026 (Fri) | Expected |
| FUTTIES Best of Batch / Wildcards | August 21+, 2026 | Expected |
The Fridays-only refresh pattern is confirmed by EA for Season 9 — the Token Store now shifts on Fridays, not Thursdays as in Season 8. That's a strong hint every FUTTIES batch drops on Fridays too, consistent with how EA has run FUTTIES historically.
EA's Season 9 announcement already spoiled a small number of FUTTIES ICONs and headline cards. These are the only names you can bank on right now:
Beyond the confirmed six, community leaks and prediction accounts are floating a longer list of expected Team 1 names — think historical FUTTIES powerhouses like Lucio, David Raya, Raya-style GK meta cards and other high-hype "vote-back" candidates that dominated previous FUTTIES editions. Treat everything not in EA's official post as leak-tier: fun to plan around, but do not spend coins based on an unconfirmed name.
The Token Store is the mechanic that makes FUTTIES different from a normal promo. It's already live as of July 10. Every Friday, EA drops a new set of offers — Player Items, Packs, Evo Consumables — priced in FUTTIES Tokens, and you spend the Tokens you earned during the week. Unspent Tokens carry over up to a Season cap.
Key rules for Season 9, straight from EA:
| Mode | How to earn Tokens | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Champions | Flat 100 Tokens per win | 3 wins = 300 Tokens = one Player Item at ~300 Token cost |
| Rivals | Weekly rewards | Higher rank = more Tokens; consistent hoard source |
| Squad Battles | Weekly rewards | Solo-friendly; enough for one Store offer/week |
| Rush | Weekly rewards | Fastest Token/hour if you like short-form |
| Squad Building Challenges | SBCs release Tokens | Watch for weekly repeatable Token SBCs |
| Objectives | Standard & Future World Tour weekly | Objective groups drop Tokens plus fodder |
The big Season 9 change: Champions Tokens are now a flat 100 per win. In Season 8 the reward scaled by rank, which punished lower-skill players. For Season 9, three Champs wins is enough to buy the average Player Item — so if you can grind out three Ws over a weekend, you're already funding one FUTTIES card without touching Squad Battles.
FUTTIES cards fall in the 97-99 OVR range historically. What separates FUTTIES from other promos is a Heroes-style Chemistry treatment: many FUTTIES cards get single-league or nation Chemistry bumps that make them wildly playable in specific squads. Expect the same treatment this year — EA has not officially confirmed the exact Chemistry structure for FC 26 FUTTIES yet, but every prior FC/FIFA edition used the same pattern.
Standard FUTTIES cards drop in packs and SBCs. Premium FUTTIES ICONs (like Jairzinho this year) come from the Premium Pass or high-cost Store offers — think "the version you'd genuinely put in your Champs squad" versus "the fun collector version".
The other half of FUTTIES is the "Best of Batch" concept — EA re-releases upgraded versions of the top cards from every major promo of the season. So expect the strongest cards from TOTY, TOTS, FUT Birthday, Fantasy FC, Thunderstruck, Winter Wildcards, Road to the Final, Path to Glory, Greats of the Game and more to come back with fresh boosts. If you missed a specific promo card during the season, FUTTIES is your second chance — and often the boosted FUTTIES version outperforms the original.
Between now and July 24, four things should be on your priority list:
If you only do one thing after reading this: hit your Token cap this week. Play into Champs, grind Rivals wins, run the Season 9 Objectives — get to 1,000 Tokens before the Friday refresh. The current Store already has playable Player Items and a couple of Evo Consumables worth grabbing. Even a low-priority Player Item at 400 Tokens keeps you flush and habit-forming.
Second priority: audit your club. Anything you're not using in your Champs squad and isn't tradeable — decide whether it survives as fodder or gets fed into a current SBC. The FUTTIES SBCs on July 24 will demand 85+ rated squads and 86-rated squads. Squads at 84 rating fall out of favor the moment FUTTIES lands. Sell 84 fodder while it's still worth 4-6k a card.
Season 9 & the FUTTIES Token Store are live. Team 1 is community-expected on Friday, July 24 at ~18:00 UTC. Kenny Dalglish, Jairzinho, and Frank Lampard are confirmed ICONs. Everything else on the Team 1 wishlist is leak-tier and should be treated as such until EA drops the loading screen. Between now and July 24: hoard fodder, cap Tokens weekly, sell hype cards, and bank 300k-500k coins for launch weekend.
